Atlas Technologies

Atlas bonded dissimilar metal flanges and fittings offer vastly improved performance while minimizing the design trade-offs of single metals. Aluminum and titanium Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) chambers support cryogenics applications by providing non-magnetic, contamination free environments.
Bonded bimetal solutions combine the advantages of two or more metals – such as the heat capacity of niobium with the lower costs of aluminum or stainless – to make robust, long-lasting connections. Atlas transition couplings are frequently used in cryogen delivery lines where the low thermal conductivity of stainless steel transitions directly to the high thermal conductivity of aluminum. Combinations include aluminum/stainless, copper/stainless, titanium/stainless, and titanium/aluminum.
Atlas designs, develops and manufactures custom aluminum and titanium vacuum chambers for UHV and XHV applications. Aluminum and titanium CF flanges with stainless steel knife edges enable weld-up. This allows engineers to utilize the outstanding properties of aluminum and titanium – low hydrogen, high thermal conductivity and light weight – for reliable high-performance vacuum.
