Atlas Technologies designs, develops and manufactures aluminum and titanium ultra high vacuum (UHV) chambers and bonded dissimilar metal flanges, fittings and transitions.
Atlas bonded solutions combine the advantages of two or more metals – such as the heat capacity of niobium with the lower costs of aluminum or stainless – to make robust, long-lasting connections. Atlas transition couplings are frequently used in cryogen delivery lines where the low thermal conductivity of stainless steel transitions to the high thermal conductivity of aluminum. Bimetallic combinations include Aluminum/Stainless, Copper/Stainless, Titanium/Stainless, and Titanium/Aluminum.
The company pioneered the use of aluminum for UHV and manufactures aluminum vacuum chambers and CF flanges with a stainless steel knife edge bonded to an aluminum body for weld-up to an aluminum chamber, enabling engineers to utilize the properties of aluminum, such as low hydrogen, nonmagnetic, high thermal conductivity and light weight for reliable high-performance vacuum. Titanium chambers and fittings are available.
